Kunming Changshui International Airport (ICAO: ZPPP, IATA: KMG) is located in Changshui Street, Guandu District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China  24.5 kilometers northeast of Kunming City, and is a 4F-level international airport , operated and managed by Yunnan Airport Group Co., Ltd., is the only large-scale gateway hub airport approved for construction during the country's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period. It is one of China's eight regional hub airports, an international aviation hub, One of China's two major national gateway hub airports. On December 5, 2008, Kunming Changshui International Airport officially started construction. On December 1, 2009, the concrete structure project of the terminal complex was completed. On May 1, 2011, the Civil Aviation Administration of China officially approved the naming of Kunming New Airport as Kunming Changshui International Airport. On June 28, 2012, Kunming Airport was relocated from Kunming Wujiaba International Airport to Changshui International Airport. According to comprehensive information in January 2020, the airport has two runways, the east runway is 4,500 meters long, and the west runway is 4,000 meters long; the number of seats (including combined seats) is 161 ; it can guarantee a passenger throughput of 38 million passengers , cargo and mail throughput of 950,000 tons, and operational needs of 303,000 aircraft takeoffs and landings. In 2019, Kunming Changshui International Airport completed 357,080 flight takeoffs and landings, and completed a passenger throughput of 48,075,978, ranking sixth in the country; it completed a cargo and mail throughput of 415,776.3 tons, ranking ninth in the country.
